Career Experience
My career experience as an ecological steward with a passion for continued learning is derived from my immersion in the world of STEAM, with my favorite subjects becoming anatomy & physiology, physics, ecology of flora and fauna, and mammalogy behavior. I enjoyed being able to assist others in my classes and found I developed a better grasp of cool subjects by being able to teach others. After gaining my degree I continued my undergraduate research at a wild ungulate facility, studying wildlife nutrition and niche partitioning of deer. This involved extensive field research and vegetative sampling to determine what wildlife need to eat to sustain themselves. I further developed a deeper understanding of the ecological communities by employing myself as a forestry consultant, measuring timber stands and assessing treatment needs of areas in Idaho, Washington, and Montana. I thrive in teaching/learning environments and enjoy encouraging others to enrich their lives with continued exploration. In my spare time I teach the importance of therapeutic horticulture for vulnerable communities and volunteer my experience with wildlife toward rescue/rehabilitation efforts and routine count surveys of bats, fisher, turtles, and other ecological communities.
I Love Tutoring Because
...one of my favorite things about being a tutor is the opportunity to work with students and help them achieve their goals! I find it rewarding to see a variety of learning styles and the student's progression into subject understanding with confidence in their abilities. I believe an interest in a subject stems from the energy and passion embodied by its teaching; who remembers a favorite teacher who helped learning be fun and approachable?!
