Career Experience
I started as an artist/animation instructor for three years, teaching students how to create 30-sec animated PSAs about tobacco use and its effects on health. After graduating from college, I subbed for three years between two school districts. Later, I applied to and earned a position as an independent study teacher for the summer. I was hired as an English teacher for 11th and 12th grades. During that first year, I had 24 professional learning hours to be certified to teach Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum (ERWC) college prep English. When we moved to a new center, I was able to add a visual arts course to my curriculum, and taught both subjects for two years before the pandemic hit.
I Love Tutoring Because
tutoring gives me a chance to continue to educate students and help them progress towards their higher education.
