These merit-based scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are intended to support superior academic achievement at Northeastern. GSS awards are determined on the basis of departmental recommendations and are offered as a percentage tuition reduction.
Admitted full-time master's students are automatically considered for GSS funding as part of the graduate program application review. Submission of additional documentation is not necessary. Tuition reductions typically range from 15% to 60%; however, may include up to full tuition coverage for qualified full-time master's students. The average tuition reduction is 25%.

Our Boston campus includes a network of creative and physical maker spaces and our offerings are available at more than half a dozen of Northeastern's global locations including Oakland and Vancouver.
The Media Studios Organization (MSO) is the central lab, studio, making, and creative practice ecosystem through which the College of Arts, Media and Design supports experiential learning, cutting- edge research, and diverse creative practices across six undergraduate majors, 56 interdisciplinary majors, and 20 graduate pathways. Game design students will find the following spaces especially useful:
The Immersive Media Lab is the central hub for Extended Reality (XR) at CAMD. Encompassing Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mixed Reality (MR), and 360-degree video creation. Students are able to fully immersive themselves in other worlds with high performance VR and MR headsets. Users develop and test games, explore new avenues for storytelling and journalism, leverage 3D scanners for photogrammetry, and engage in grant funded XR research. Our Game Design Computer Lab offers a suite of windows workstations for game-related projects.
