American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) is a fully accredited international medical school dedicated to providing a medical education of the highest quality, with an emphasis on increasing minority representation and racial diversity in medical education and in the physician workforce. AUA uses a holistic admissions approach to select students with the potential for medical school success and provides them with the resources they need to obtain highly competitive residencies and move on to successful careers in medicine.
AUA's medical education satisfies the medical school education requirement to practice medicine in all 50 states and U.S. territories, Canada, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

AUA requires a minimum of 90 credit hours of college courses and strongly recommends that applicants earn a degree from an accredited undergraduate institution. Although AUA does require that US citizens and permanent residents submit their MCAT scores as prerequisites for admission, it uses a holistic approach to evaluate students and believes there is no correlation between MCAT scores and becoming a licensed, successful, and caring physician.

- Pre-Clinical Sciences (Preclinical Sciences) at AUA campus in Antigua — 2 years
- Preclinical Science Integrated Course (BSIC) intersession at AUA campus in Antigua — 13 weeks; followed by USMLE Step I examination.
- Clinical Sciences consisting of clinical clerkships (Core and Electives) — 84 weeks at affiliated teaching hospitals.

**Preclinical Sciences 1 students may be required to pay an additional $85 Basic Life Support (BLS) fee. If a student can show evidence of BLS certification, this fee may be waived.
Title IV (Federal) funding, Canadian Provincial loans, VA benefits and AUA scholarships are available to qualified students.
