Career Experience
I have worked as a mentor in two different mentorship programs. In those roles, I provided comprehensive academic support to new students in various subjects, such as core classes, math, science, essay writing, and guidance in finding reliable and authentic sources. As mentors, we were trained to offer academic and cultural support to mentees from diverse backgrounds and educational levels through one-to-one peer mentoring. These sessions enabled me to broaden my comprehension of effective teaching strategies for different subjects and fields of research, facilitating the identification of the right sources needed to promote autonomy, independence, and confidence in students’ abilities to successfully complete various tasks and accomplish academic goals.
I Love Tutoring Because
teaching the knowledge that I have acquired to other students not only helps me fulfill my goal of empowering students in their academic journeys but also enables me to enhance and deepen my comprehension of the material through conducting additional research and revision. Guiding students and creating a supportive environment that helps students succeed academically is incredibly rewarding, as academic achievement often contributes to success in personal growth and professional development. Additionally, my experience as a mentor has significantly enhanced my communication and adaptability skills, motivating me to pursue further opportunities in the tutoring field.
